News 2012

2011 was again a very enjoyable year thanks to Terry and John the ponies did exceptionally well Baledon Extravaganza was unbeaten again which means she has not been beaten as a 2 or 3 year old her outstanding day was at Lampeter stallion show were she won her Sec A 2 or 3 year old filly class was Youngstock Champion res Sec A champion Overall Supreme filly Champion A,B,C or D and Res Overall Supreme Youngstock Champion A,B,C or D  to a 3 year old sec C colt

What a result at the home of the welsh cob for an A filly to do so well !!!!

Baledon Extravaganza

The young colt Baledon Sea Admiral started 2011 very successfully and continued to do well

He has stayed down at Nynnwood for Terry and John to show again this year a young colt I think with great potential

Another young colt who was successful was Glyncoch Kentucky  he went to the Shropshire County Show and more than fulfilled our expectation of him he was Sec A Youngstock Champion Overall Sec A

Champion Bronze Medal winner and Res supreme Welsh to the Sec D stallion Powys Valley Mr Harry (who was to go onto win the stallion class at the Royal Welsh)

I collected him from his only show and the next day what a shock he was out running with his mares for the first time!!

Shore Brooks Hot Gossip attended a couple of shows and returned to run with the mares after Glanusk

Sadly he has now returned to Holland and will be attending the stallion show in February

Gossip sired some lovely foals and there were some fillies!!! and all the older foals found lovely new homes one went to France one went to Ireland and one stayed here all to be shown and one of the colts has gone to be a potential ridden pony in time

A  really stunning yearling colt

As Exclamation was  not born until later I have run him on until he was matured and now feel he is well mature enough to be shown and as I have 3 stallions I am not needing to keep another potential stallion  so sadly he is looking for a showing home were his lovely breeding will be appreciated

I very much enjoyed all my judging trips especially as the Sec B I put champion at Bath and West Thisledown Arctic Fox went on to be top priced in hand pony at the Fayre Oaks Sale?

Look forward to seeing him out with Sam Robert's and the other colt I  put champion at Warrington the lovely Mynach Orsino is coming out with Katy Marriot-Payne this should be really interesting to see these lovely colts under saddle

The summer was very dry and very worrying as we ran out of water for the ponies and had to bowser water to them as some places  were wallowing in mud we were praying for rain and only now is the water running freely

It was lovely to hear how well so may Baledon and Baledon related ponies have done the topping was Netherfield Mr Rochester ( By Baledon Discovery) being placed 5th overall Supreme Champion pony at the Horse of the Year Show a great triumph

I am still on the Welsh Pony and Cob Society area Advisory Group this group is now expanding and is really getting established now in it's 4th year and I now feel it is making it's presents felt if you have any points you would like to be brought up please get in touch and I will help you get your views brought before the group and finally get your points put before council  the group is here to help you get your voice heard

I shall be doing some judging this year but am limiting it to not so many long distance shows as being away from home can be a problem at times

My very grateful thanks go again to Terry Wall and John Osborne of the Nynwood stud who have show the ponies so well and have had such success last year looking forward to equally as good a season in 2012 I don't know what I would do without you it is such a joy seeing the ponies in the ring being shown to perfection I really can't  THANK YOU BOTH ENOUGH

Well here we go start to 2012 showing season seems all too soon!!

Hope you all are wintering well the winter so far has been really kind stock has wintered really well with very little extra keep lets hope it keeps like this as it will make the winter seem that much shorter

I have left some old news from last year on as it seems so blank looking at all the empty space will update it as the year goes on

Here are some photos of Glyncoch Kentucky in the early morning sun just after he was turned out for his morning roll I did try and get some of him clean but he is so fast going to his mud patch!!

I have also been judging on the May bank holiday at Warrington in the pouring rain and whow was it cold

Had some really lovely ponies it was a delight to judge I did not feel the rain and how wet I had got until the end

My Supreme Champion overall A,B,C,and D was the stunning black Sec A mare

3 days later I was judging the B's at Bath and West and it got to 28 degrees in the main ring !!! British weather

I was delighted to see so many lovely ponies I have never been to this area before and it was a pleasure to judge such nice ponies my champion was a very well made beautiful colt

Took Baledon Miss Dinamite and Baledon Lanoushka to be scanned Di has now missed for 2 years and Lanoushka sadly lost a foal last year and was quite poorly after so has not foaled this year

To my great delight both are safely in foal with good strong foetuses Lanoushka is a good 6 weeks and Di over 3 weeks 

So I can look forward to 2 Shore Brooks Hot Gossip foals next year

Hopefully Baledon Sea Sray ( the filly that got over tetanus) and Baledon Hullabaloo are in foal to Gossip as well

and Baledon Meganisa, Tiffwyl Megan, Baledon Heavenly Choice, Baledon Hanna and Baledon Modryd Aur   are all looking as if they have held to Glyncoch Kentucky

Looks as though I could be quite busy next year!!!

Turned out to be a disappointment as the ponies caught the cough so showing had to stop hence Extravaganza has not been out since

Though she comes home totally unbeaten as a two year old and a three year old quite a feat,  in amongst her wins are  some of the beat welsh shows Lampeter, Glanusk, Hill ponies of Wales ect.

Esther van Jaarsveld sent  this lovely photo of a very happy Hy-Light with her daughter Beau who adores her Hy-Light (Muffy) is now 26!! hard to believe it is all that long time ago she won the foal class in the Royal Welsh and had a glittering yearling season wonderful to see she is happy and loved in her old age
